Nana Kwasi Agyemang, popularly known as Geeman; a Ghanaian pop star now a Man of God, makes it known that he gave up on life when he was sentenced to death by hanging.

He further stated inan interview on Asempa FM’s tête à tête show over the weekend, that it was his wish to be killed by God himself when he was confined in the Nsawam Prisons.

The story of his imprisonment was in 1995 where he shot and killed a taxi driver in Dome, Accra in a taxi fare dispute. This taxi driver was hired by his female friend who intends to visit him.

According to Geeman’s friend, the agreed fare was 3,000 Cedis (now 30 pesewas). But the taxi driver insisted it was 4,000 Cedis (now 40 pesewas). When Geeman failed to pay him the said amount, the taxi driver left.Later, the taxi driver returned to Geeman’s house to collect a patch of sand from the spot where Geeman stood, supposedly for black magic purposes.Geeman upon realizing, got angry, went to his room for a pistol and shot the taxi driver – after giving a warning shot.

Allegedly, Ghanaian Actor, Actor Abeiku Nyame also known as Jagger Pee, who was present during the dispute held the taxi driver from running away.

After a court trial, Jagger Pee received a life sentence imprisonment while German on the other hand, was sentenced to death for murder. His jail sentence began in January 1995 but fortunately he received a presidential pardon from the then outgoing President; John Agyekum Kuffour on the 9th January 2009.

Geeman in an interview affirms that life in prison was unbearable and difficult as there’s no comparison between his daily routines back at home and his current situation; being locked up.

German, The High Life in G’Major hitmaker, asserted that back in prison, he had to share a congested room of about 12 inches with other inmates which to him was very unbearable.

According to him, it got to to a juncture where he could bare the trauma no longer but he sorted solace in the Bible and that was his means of survival.
