For some time now, this has been a subject of discussion. People believe Gospel artistes must focus on ministering the true word of God to everyone; and that, it is beyond reasons to feature a secular artiste on gospel song.
And to the other end, they also see no issue with who is being featured in a piece of music that happens to be a gospel song.
But today, on the Rock For Jesus Show on Zylofon FM, Call Me Nazareth told DJ Paloma that, he featured Stonebowy on his song just to preach the gospel to everybody. “The Gospel train is on the move; whoever joins the train is not to be ignored or driven out. We are not doing what they are doing… At the end of the day, we have planted; and watered; but the increase is of the Lord.
He quizzed why tithes and offering from secular artistes are accepted; but not their feature on a gospel song.
According to him, he did a song (Destiny Killer) with Kesse years ago; when Kesse was a secular artiste. Today, Kesse is gospel minister.
Lady Prempeh has also received so much condemnation on this subject; at least for two of her songs. She did ‘Odo Yi Wohe’ which featured Asem and Riche in 2008. That could not hold her down; she just released ‘Mefre Yesu’ which featured Kuami Eugene. Herty Bongreat features with Sarkodie and Trigmatic were other songs that rekindled this topic for discussions on various platforms.
